2. Sizing, Capacity & Selection (The Practical Guide)

The general industry rule is simple: 1 pound of healthy body weight = 1 cubic inch of cremated remains.
- Example:If your loved one weighed 200 lbs, you need an urn with at least 200 cubic inches of space.
Most of our adult urns (including the Heritage Wood Collection) hold 218+ cubic inches, making them a safe fit for nearly any adult.
If the weight is very close to the urn's capacity, we always recommend choosing a slightly larger size or purchasing a separate Keepsake Urn to hold a small portion of the ashes. This often relieves the stress of "making it fit.
Both. Our wood urns are crafted to look like dignified heirlooms for the home. However, they are also suitable for burial.
Note: If burying in a cemetery, please ask if they require an "urn vault" (an outer protective container) to protect the wood from the earth’s weight.

- A Professional Tip:For urns with deep wood grain or complex 3D textures, we often recommend using a Brass or Silver Nameplate rather than direct carving. This ensures the text remains crisp and legible, and allows you the flexibility to place it exactly where you prefer.

No, none of our urns require messy glues to be secure. We prioritize clean, respectful, and physical closures:

Bamboo, Ceramic & Glass Urns: These feature a traditional fitted lid. Because the ashes are safely sealed within the Secure Containment Bag (included in your Ceremony Care Kit™), the lid rests elegantly on top without the need for permanent adhesives.
- Yes. Wood and Bamboo urns are the most "TSA-Friendly" options. They allow X-rays to pass through clearly, meaning security agents can screen them without opening the container. We recommend carrying the urn on board with you, rather than checking it.

- Eligibility:To be eligible for a return, the item must be unused, un-engraved, and in its original packaging.
